Four Core beliefs

1. God is good

Psalms 27:13  "I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." Everything we believe at TWC filters through the primary belief that God is good. We believe all of His attributes point directly to love.  Even in circumstances we don't understand, we trust that He IS good and works all things to accomplish good in our lives.  Therefore, we also believe God's judgements are reserved for the sole purpose of removing anything that interferes with His Great Love for us.

Our response:  Because God is good, we are required to Dream Big!

John 16: 23-24  "And in that day you will not question me about anything. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.  Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full."  It's God's dream for us to be full of joy!  Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before Him.  Joy is the reward for the cross.  It is God's goodness that sets the parameters of our dreams.  When we dare to dream big, we reveal an aspect of God that can't be seen any other way.

2. nothing is impossible

Mark 9:23  " Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."  We believe by the Word of God and by our own experiences that God still performs miracles.  We believe that, as with Abraham, it is counted to us as righteousness when we believe that God is faithful to perform the impossible in our lives.  He can do anything by His good pleasure.  He is not reserved by many or by few.  He is the author and finisher of our faith.  Without faith, it is impossible to please God. With faith, all things are possible.

Our response:  Because Nothing is Impossible, we are required to Take Risks!

James 2: 18-26  "But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.  You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!  But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?  Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?  Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?  And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.  You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.  Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."

Faith without works is dead.  We must not only believe that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him, but we must also walk out the dream He has put in our hearts.  God will give us direction as we need it.  As we step out in faith and take risks, He will do the magic!  He will do the impossible if we will be faithful to do what is possible on our end.  He will do supernatural if we will be faithful to walk out our natural abilities.

3. everything was purchased at the cross

Ephesians 2:8-9  "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."  We believe that when God looks at us, He looks through the filter of His Son Jesus.  Jesus is seated at the Fathers right hand.  We are seated at the right hand of Jesus. When God looks in our direction, He sees the righteousness of His son, who paid the penalty for all our sin, past, present and future. Because of the cross, we have access to all of the resurrection power of Jesus. And we will do even greater things than him. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

Our response:  Because Everything Was Accomplished at the Cross, We are required to
Trust God!

Romans 8:28  "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."  Bishop Joseph Garlington once said, "When God shuts one door, He opens another, but it is hell in the hallway!"  God does not lie.  He doesn't dangle our dreams in front of us only to pull them away.  You can trust Him!!!  It is how we deal with the hallways, or the disappointments along the way that solidify our trust in Him.

4. you are significant

Hosea 2:14-15  "Therefore, behold, I will allure her, will bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfort to her.
I will give her vineyards from there, and the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; She shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, as in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt."  God loves us so much that even when we stray from him, He will hedge us in and allure us back to the place of significance as His son or daughter.  He will use even use the trouble we create for ourselves, our Valley of Achor as a door of hope.  He redeems everything.  He knew us before He formed us and ordained our destiny.  His desire is to love us and to prosper us.  He will fight against anything that causes us to question our significance.

Our response:  Because You are Significant, You are required to Serve Well!
John 13:5-16  "For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him."  The person who comes with a towel on their arm has learned how to serve well.  If we take that approach, God will give us everything that we can conceive.  This is probably the greatest revelation that Jesus received from the Father.  When you realize what the Father has given you, you can't help but give it away!
