​beginnings

In the fall of 2012, with only four families in attendance, the "Church of the Living Room" was established as a mid-week Bible study in the Noltee's home. Very slowly, friends and neighbors trickled in, and service was moved to Sunday mornings in the couple's pole barn. It wasn't glorious. Often it was too hot, or too cold but the first official service of The Well Church was held there on May 6, 2013. Fortunately because of the foresight of a friend, the church started the application process for non-profit status. A year later status was granted just in time to begin renting space from the YWCA. ​Like any tale worth telling, the process of establishing the church was wrought with rejection, insecurity, exhilaration and sacrifice. Incredibly, during this process a miracle happened! A local Lutheran church generously donated their building. The first service in the new building was held Easter 2015. It's been magical to watch the plan unfold...

Meet the pastors

SHAWN NOLTEE
Shawn and Stacey are a very ordinary couple who serve an extraordinary God. They have pastored locally for 14 years, and have come to value simplicity, transparency and authentic community, rooted in both deep love and fear of the Lord.
STACEY NOLTEE
The couple has two adult children, Israel and Liviya. They reside outside of Montoursville on the Loyalsock Creek.  They both find joy in building the Body of Christ,  home renovations, coffee with friends and walks through the Pennsylvania hills.
